Bichectomy or Chin Augmentation?
Bichectomy (Cheek Thinning Operation) or Chin Filling (Chin Contour Filling or Chin Tip Filling)?
The common question of many of our patients who apply to our clinic in order to have more attractive and sharp lines is to learn which of these three methods can achieve the desired result in the most effective way.
Bichectomy procedure; also known as “Hollywood Cheek”, is the surgical removal of Bichat fat tissue in the cheek. With this procedure, the cheekbones become more prominent and a more voluminous, youthful appearance is achieved with more prominent cheekbones. It is a highly preferred procedure with its risk-free, aesthetic results when performed in the right hands with the right technique. One of the common expectations of our patients who wish to have these procedures is the reduction of the appearance of the double chin. However, contrary to popular misconception, the appearance of the double chin does not decrease with the bichectomy procedure. Although there are other alternative methods to reduce the appearance of the jowl, we can reduce the appearance of the jowl in addition to the advantages we have previously mentioned, with one of the “Jaw Tip Filling or Jaw Contour Filling (Jawline) procedures we perform in order to have more distinct, sharp and attractive lines on the face. With Chin Tip Filler or Jaw Contour Filler (Jawline), we can create more prominent chin border lines and lengthen the face. The new form we will create on the face is determined individually according to the aesthetic taste of each patient, and there are quite a lot of aesthetic chin appearance forms that we can achieve. In this regard, as long as we stay within the limits that we can protect the anatomical jaw and facial health of our patients, we have no limits in meeting the aesthetic expectations of our patients. To summarize what we have mentioned briefly for you; Bichectomy, Chin Tip Filling and Chin Contour Filling procedures are completely different from each other. Different aesthetic results are obtained with all of them. In chin tip filling, the face can be elongated a little more, a better chin tip form can be created and the appearance of the jowl can be reduced. In jaw contour filling (Jawline), more prominent chin borders can be created, a new anatomical appearance in angular, triangular or square form can be provided according to preference, and the appearance of the jowl can be slightly reduced. Bichectomy, on the other hand, provides a more voluminous face with more prominent cheekbones and at the same time a slimmer face form due to the removal of Bichat fat tissue. Since it is a big question mark among the public which procedure can achieve the right result, the best method would be to consult a specialist physician, explain your aesthetic expectations and act according to the physician’s guidance.
